Siaya men face the wrath over alleged motorbike theft in Ombwede Village

Residents in Ombwede village, Mulaha Sublocation, Township Location were astonished on Wednesday Morning over an unusual incident that caught two Boda Boda Men after they were suspected to have stolen a motorbike that belonged to one of the residents who owns a shop in the area. While speaking to Radio Mikayi in Siaya County, Mulaha Sublocation senior Assistant Chief Okech Murunga Said that the incident happed after the two Boda Boda men drunk a Traditional Medicine from a man who is suspected to be a Medicine Man from Bungoma, and after then they became unconscious. He further added that the two men were suspected to have been involved in the motorbike theft and to clear the doubts, they had to drink the traditional medicine.

“The man whose motorbike was stolen is identified as ”Audi” and he owns a shop in Ombwede Village, his wife visited a medicine man in Bungoma to seek help over her husband’s motorbike theft, after then she came back with the medicine prepared by the medicine man and she gave to four men on Tuesday, on Wednesday morning the two men became unconscious” Mr. Oketch Murunga Narrated.

Mr. Oketch further narrated that the incident that happened on Wednesday morning was unusual because immediately the suspects were taken to hospital for diagnosis, there was no single disease found in them therefore, they were advised to take back the suspect to the medicine man for he was the one able to help the suspects regain back to normal.

It is alleged that the medicine man demanded that cash immediately after he was called to help rescue the two suspects. Mr. Murunga further condemned such actions stating that the family should have followed the rightful protocol even after they had reported the matter to the police. He said that such action could lead to the death of many people in the area village since the medicine could as well be poisoned.
